Adelphia, New Jersey, June 8, 2020 – With Flag Day fast approaching on June 14, 2020, the Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski, II Memorial Fund is challenging all Americans to #RockYourFlag by proudly hanging the American flag outside and then joining in the Fund’s patriotic campaign on social media.
We must do better for our veterans with PTSD, especially now as stay home orders during the pandemic disrupt daily routines desperately needed for them to stay healthy,” said Marion Zilinski, Co-Founder and Board Member of the Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski, II Memorial Fund.
The cost of the service dogs’ training was funded by the Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski, II Memorial Fund in honor of Army Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski, II, a Middletown, New Jersey, resident and graduate of Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, New Jersey, who was killed in action by a roadside bomb in Iraq in 2005. His parents, Marion and Dennis Zilinski, Co-Founders and Board Members of the Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski, II Memorial Fund, were on hand for the graduation ceremony.
Peyton Secrest, an 11-year-old, said the presentation he heard was very impactful. “It’s very nice to give back to our troops for all they give to our country. It’s a very good program.” The themes of Markham CARES Day are cooperation, assertion, responsibility, empathy, and self-control. The 6th grader told us he’ll be proud to wear the t-shirt the Zilinskis gave him.
