The E3 Private First Class in the Army was severely injured during a deployment in Kuwait in 2005 when he was just 19 years old. During a mission to recover the fallen, Patterson severely damaged his left leg and hip, and suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury.

🇺🇸 The date is often mistaken for the kick-off of the summer season on the news, with barbeques and beach festivities highlighted on television, but we ask you to honor our fallen soldiers on Memorial Day with respect and gratitude. Indeed, it is not a “Happy” Memorial Day, rather a somber occasion recognizing loss and honoring those lost, like our Dennis.
Major Zilinski was escorted home in April 2020 by a caravan of firetrucks, police cars, family, and friends as spectators practicing social distancing lined the streets to watch. The excitement – widely covered in the media – lifted spirits in the community during the first few weeks of the pandemic.
